The list of black Republicans continues to grow as Kanye West, Trump’s ethnic spokesmen has become the designer for the MAGA movement. West signed on to design the line of shirt calling for blacks to part ways with the Democratic Party. Candace Owen’s “Blexit or “Black Exit” campaign debuted Saturday at the Young Black Leadership Summit in Washington D.C., organized by Owens.

“Blexit is a renaissance, and I am blessed to say that this logo, these colors, were created by my dear friend and fellow superhero Kanye West,” Owens told the crowd (via Page Six). “[West] has taken one of the boldest steps in America to open a conversation we have needed to have.”
West appears to be straddling the political fence as he steadily endorses Trump and the MAGA movement. However, he recently donated $73,000 to Democratic Chicago mayoral candidate, Amara Eniya. It is safe to say Owen’s has a fanbase already, as she plans to bring her campaign to various other cities. The Young Black Leadership Summit cheerfully chanted “U.S.A” as they were welcomed by President Trump. A sea of black faces sporting MAGA hats filled the White House as this group of young black leaders became the poster children for Owen’s campaign.

I think it’s safe to say the black delegation has accepted the loss of Kanye West, as many young, black, and influential figures take his place in the new wave of political activism.
