Actor & Rapper Donald Glover Proves Black People Really Are Magical by Winning Big at the Golden Globes.
‘Unapologetically Black’, he said, “I want to thank all the Black People in Atlanta.” The faces in the audience ranged from pride to confusion and maybe even disdain but who cares?
Glover, who got his start as a comedy writer at 30 Rock at the age of 23 is also known as “Childish Gambino” musician/rap artist, whose recent album, “Awaken My Love” was received with high marks.
Voted “Most Likely to Write for The Simpsons” in high school, the Stone Mountain, Georgia native is a reminder of what Atlanta has always been known for — changing the game and setting new standards for Black Excellence.
It also goes to show that your purpose shines through naturally and even if you can’t quite see it, everyone around you likely can.
To be given that title in high school and to see him now, with two Golden Globes, is definitely a proud moment for Black People but also confirms that everyone has a purpose and to stay true to your dreams.
Congrats to Donald Glover and the cast of FX ATLANTA!
