If you’ve been looking for an alternative to watching this year’s Oscar ceremony following the #OscarsSoWhite controversy, look no further: Black&Sexy TV has you covered.
The digital entertainment and lifestyle network, headed by Numa Perrier and Dennis Dortch, recently announced that they’ll be hosting a Battle of the G.O.A.T.s (Greatest Of All Times) this Sunday, Feb. 28th at 6 p.m. PST.
The evening will kick off with a viewing and discussion of Chris Rock’s Oscar monologue, then hosts Javicia Leslie and Courtney Burrell will join other actors and fans of the network in debating some of the finest in Black cinema.
Debaters will go toe-to-toe, arguing their case for their favorite films. Categories will include Coming to America v.s. Boomerang, Brown Sugar v.s. The Wood, Greatest of All Time Vintage Black Cinema, Greatest of All Time Denzel Performance, and main event, Love Jones v.s. Love & Basketball.
Black&Sexy TV, aimed primarily at black audiences, premiered their original programming on YouTube in 2011. Since then, they’ve launched a premium subscription service, partnered with BET Networks to air three web series including “Hello Cupid”, and are working with HBO to develop their 2012 show “The Couple”.
