The number of ambitious black business owners are gradually rising to the top, although, our black women are skyrocketing. Everywhere you turn, there are phenomenal individuals who have made a great decision to take a risk building their own business doing what they love. One of the challenges towards entrepreneurship is taking a leap of faith and ultimately dropping what doesn’t make you happy. It doesn’t matter if you’re making 6 figures, let it go. The value of money decreases when a person hates working for another person every day wishing for another route. These women have envisioned themselves thriving in what they love to do, closed their eyes and jump.

Every successful entrepreneur has a taken a great risk and earned a greater return. The instability that every entrepreneur experiences while chasing their dreams can be frightening. However, pushing through when circumstances get tough is what molds an exceptional business owner. According to the Bureau Labor of Statistics, black entrepreneurship has increased by 5.7 percent from 2007 to 2009. Process this! The 2015 State of Women-owned Business reported that black women own about 14 percent of businesses in the U.S. This is huge.

Do you have baking skills and recipes to create remarkable cupcakes? Start a business. Do you have ideas for a new app to signal help if a woman is in danger? Mobilize the resources around you to make it happen. These “Bosses” have paved a path for the younger generation to make a living off of their passions. By displaying that their success is possible even with their busy lives, this dream becomes attainable for the young black women that follow.
