Women’s History Month Spotlight: Priscilla Shirer

Priscilla Shirer is a Christian author, speaker, and actress.

Priscilla Shirer is an African-American speaker, author, and actress. She has recently become popular in her movie War Room, playing lead role as the mother and wife, Elizabeth Jordan.

Shirer is the daughter of Dr. Tony Evans, senior pastor of Oak Cliff Bible Fellowship Church in Dallas, Texas. Her younger brother is the Christian singer and songwriter, Anthony Evans Jr.

She began her Master’s degree at Dallas Theological Seminary, after attending University of Houston and interning for a Christian radio station. This is where it all began.

Several individuals listened to her and invited her to speak at their Bible studies, churches, and conferences once hearing her on the radio. Soon after, she began speaking at a weekly Bible study for the Zig Ziglar corporation.

She was an independent contractor for CBS News and hosted her own television show; however, she recently decided her faith and ministries are more important.

Her main audience is that of Christian women, establishing, alongside her husband, the Going Beyond Ministries. She speaks at the Going Beyond conference and the Deeper Still: The Event, sharing the stage with well-known Christian Authors, Beth Moore and Kay Arthur.

A few quotes said by Priscilla Shirer are:

Most disobedience involves a simple choice to stay put.”

“Expect that God is positioning you to see Him work in your life in a unique and unusual way.”

“Persistent, internal inklings matched by external confirmation is often the way God directs believers into His will.”
